30 March 2011

Thank you to all who joined us for the event. While the weather was not very cooperative, we did have a nice time and we feel this year improved over last year. Much love to the Tudor Rose Players, Drunk & Sailor, The Minstrel Teig, The SCA,The Ft Wayne Bellydancers, AMT Gard, The Pirate Ross, and the Tavern Wenches-you entertained us greatly. Thank you to our vendors who suffered through the mud but were very cheery and wonderful despite it all. Thank you to our volunteers-we appreciate everything you do-special thanks to Tom Stouder (or should I say Sir Tom?), Jessica Tucker, Brock Tucker, Eula Conwell, Steve Taylor and Todd Nightenhelser, without whom this could not have run smoothly at all. We will post pictures soon. Remember to Like us on Facebook! Posted May 31,2011

Our faire is set in the lovely village of Stonehaven. The year is 1562 and the village is all abuzz over the visit of Mary, Queen of Scots (Queen and court to be played by the Tudor Rose Players). The Keith family, Earls Marischal of Scotland have  announced a May Faire in the Queen’s honor-which will be a holiday for townsfolk, a time for laborers to receive their quarterly pay and seek new employment, and a time of fun, folly and romance for all. Entertainment in honor of her majesty will include : Live Action Chess , Drunk & Sailor (musical comedy), Bellydancing, Swordplay demonstrations, mock battles between combatants, a Storyteller, a Minstrel, Puppet theater in the Children’s realm, and (comedic) Tavern Wenches in the pub. There will be events scheduled daily-including the Queen interacting with the patrons in a court setting, with lords and ladies discussing topics of the time, literature readings, and a pickle eating contest. There will be a fantasy area of goblins and fairies-with an opportunity for children to have goblin grub and fairy tea. And of course, there is an adult only tavern serving libations daily and into the evening.
